The following letter has been received from an old Club member, addressed to Graham Sandy and Keith Hurst:
Dear Graham and Keith,
I wonder if you still remember me? It has been a long time! I happen to
stumble upon the Hainault & Clayhall web site and all the fond memories
came flooding back, from the pictures it certainly looks like everyone is
well.
Although it has been a long time it’s never too late to offer my
gratitude. I wanted to thank you both and the other members for what was
probably the best cricket foundation a young leg spinner could ask for.
The support and encouragement on and off the field was wonderful and the
family atmosphere made you feel a part of something. I did regret leaving
and often thought of making a return, however I have always followed the
club’s progress and wish you all well.
I am in Saudi Arabia for the last 5 years so haven’t played much cricket
although I am trying to establish something for the expat children here,
hopefully I can replicate the same atmosphere and spirit of Hainault &
Clayhall.
With kind regards,
Hassan Iqbal
